Micromax Yu Yureka Smartphone With Cyanogen OS

The Micromax Yu Yureka will go up for registration via Amazon on Friday at 2pm (IST) and the shipping will commence from second week of January.

Micromax Yu Yureka smartphone was launched during an event in New Delhi with the price tag of Rs 8,999. It will go up for registration via Amazon starting today at 2pm (IST) and the shipping of the device will commence from the second week of January. This is company's first Cyanogen OS-based smartphones.



In addition, the company had announced that the early buyers of the device will get a leather back cover worth Rs 999, free along with the device. It has also promised a “free replacement or repair” of the device at the user’s doorstep.

The Yu Yureka (AO5510) smartphone runs on a custom-build of Cyanogen OS, Cyanogen OS 11, to what Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax touts as "temple of customisation" and "Android on steroids", while bringing in several other features beyond stock Android.

Micromax Yu Yureka is a dual-SIM device with Micro-SIM cards slot (4G+3G), it sports 13.97-cm (5.5-inch) HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC (MSM8939), coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone houses 13MP Sony Exmor CMOS sensor rear autofocus camera with an f/2.2 aperture and flash, along with a 5MP front facing camera. It stocks 16GB internal storage space which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It also packs 2500mAh Li-Po battery, which as per company is capable of delivering up to eight hours, standby time up to 310 hours, video playback time of up to six hours, and gaming up to 4 hours.

On connectivity front, it features Cat.4 4G LTE option with up to 150Mbps download speeds and 50Mbps upload speeds along with Band 40 and Band 3 support. It also supports Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack options. Sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope are also available. The Cyanogen OS 11 build is developed on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The company has also promised the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based build soon.

iBall Launches Andi 4L Pulse Device With Windows Phone 8.1

The iBall Andi 4L Pulse handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC, alongside 1GB RAM, priced at Rs 4,899.

iBall has announced the launch of a Windows Phone handset, dubbed as iBall Andi 4L Pulse in India, with the price tag of Rs. 4,899. It is notably company’s first smartphone based on Windows Phone OS. The availability of the device was disclosed by an established retailer in Mumbai via its twitter account, before the launch was originally announced by the company.




The Mumbai based Telecom operator, Mahesh Telecom tweeted, "New launch - #iBall Windows phone Andi 4L PULSE now available for Rs 4899/- only." Based on the authenticity of its previous disclosures, we can accept the official announcement about the launch and availability details is expected to arrive soon.

The specifications of the device as disclosed by the Mumbai based retailer points out that iBall Andi 4L Pulse is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC, alongside 1GB RAM. The device runs on Windows Phone 8.1. It sports a 10.16-cm (4-inch) TFT display with (480x800 pixel) resolution, 5MP autofocus rear camera with BSI sensor, 4GB internal storage space. It packs 1500mAh battery, while on connectivity front it comes with Bluetooth v3.0 connectivity and 3G connectivity options.

If all this disclosure by the retailer comes out to be true and the smartphone if released at the given price, then iBall Andi 4L Pulse would become the cheapest Windows Phone handset in India at Rs 4,899.

Samsung ChatON Messaging Service Will Shut Down Soon

The company is planning to withdraw the messaging service in all regions except US from 1 February.


Samsung has confirmed that the ChatON messaging service will come to a halt in all regions except US from 1 February onwards. Notably the company had called the reports about ChatON’s closure as false in November, but it has not taken a U turn and told Engadget that it will soon shut the messaging service.





The Korean based company had mentioned in a statement issued to Engadget, “On February 1, 2015, ChatON will be discontinued in all markets except the United States, as we strive to meet evolving consumer needs by focusing on our core services. We remain committed to offering services that cater to our consumers' lifestyles and add value to their everyday lives."

The Samsung Galaxy devices had the ChatON messaging app preloaded in them, however it didn’t get much popular among the users. Even though the company, back in 2013 had claimed that the messaging app has been subscribed by over 100 million users worldwide. But the service was barely user to exchange messages by the users.

The company had notably disclosed only the number of subscribers of the messaging app, but then it never stated about the monthly active users base. The reports regarding the shutdown of Samsung CHatON service were first disclosed in the brand’s home country, which said that the company is planning to close the instant messaging service stating, "To restructure unprofitable businesses and improve profitability." It even stated that officials believe that ChatON business is among those venture which might not show any progress.

HP has unveiled its HP 7 VoiceTab 1351ra, with price tag of Rs. 10,990. The new HP 7 VoiceTab 1351ra tablet runs on Android OS and involves the likes of HP Slate 6 VoiceTab, Slate 7 VoiceTab, and HP 10. It can be availed from HP Online store and also from the offline retail outlets.


As of now, it is available on in white colour option and supports, 17.65-cm (6.95-inch) TN display with 1024x600p resolution. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor and runs on Android 4.4.2. It is backed up with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage space which is further expandable via microSD card slot.
