The Micromax Yu Yureka will go up for registration via Amazon on Friday at 2pm (IST) and the shipping will commence from second week of January.
Micromax Yu Yureka smartphone was launched during an event in New Delhi with the price tag of Rs 8,999. It will go up for registration via Amazon starting today at 2pm (IST) and the shipping of the device will commence from the second week of January. This is company's first Cyanogen OS-based smartphones.In addition, the company had announced that the early buyers of the device will get a leather back cover worth Rs 999, free along with the device. It has also promised a “free replacement or repair” of the device at the user’s doorstep.
The Yu Yureka (AO5510) smartphone runs on a custom-build of Cyanogen OS, Cyanogen OS 11, to what Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax touts as "temple of customisation" and "Android on steroids", while bringing in several other features beyond stock Android.
Micromax Yu Yureka is a dual-SIM device with Micro-SIM cards slot (4G+3G), it sports 13.97-cm (5.5-inch) HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC (MSM8939), coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone houses 13MP Sony Exmor CMOS sensor rear autofocus camera with an f/2.2 aperture and flash, along with a 5MP front facing camera. It stocks 16GB internal storage space which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It also packs 2500mAh Li-Po battery, which as per company is capable of delivering up to eight hours, standby time up to 310 hours, video playback time of up to six hours, and gaming up to 4 hours.
On connectivity front, it features Cat.4 4G LTE option with up to 150Mbps download speeds and 50Mbps upload speeds along with Band 40 and Band 3 support. It also supports Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack options. Sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope are also available. The Cyanogen OS 11 build is developed on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The company has also promised the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based build soon.
