Bengal Plans To Install Incentive

The Bengal government plans to generate over 100 MW of power from solar rooftop by 2017 and over 500 MW additional power by 2022.

The Bengal Government has plans to develop roof top solar power systems, especially on the high-rise buildings. The move would facilitate users of solar power to get a subsidy/incentive of around 20 per cent. A top government official even shared the government’s plan to use solar power in all government buildings.

The officials say that Ashden India Renewable Energy Collective (AIREC) had already submitted its report regarding the policy guidelines for grid connected rooftop solar scheme for Kolkata, earlier in September. At present the total RTSPV capacity in West Bengal is about 1mw, including the private installation. Now the government plans to further generate 100 MW of power from solar rooftop by 2017 and over 500 mw additional power by 2022.

SP Gon Chaudhuri, solar scientist and chairman, Ashden India Collective says that the solar roorftop installation can give a significant amount of energy for in-house load and can thereby can help in reducing the peak energy demand in urban area during the day time.

The Ashden study had suggested that any person, any company or body corporate or association or body of individuals, whether incorporated or not, would be eligible to establish rooftop solar photovoltaic power plant. The rooftop solar photovoltaic power plants will follow the net energy metering mechanism and will be installed using at least 70 per cent of available rooftop area. The installed capacity in a premise would be considered as not to be less than 2kw and as suggested by Ashden, the maximum capacity would be 100 kw per project/system.

Skype Voice Calls To Be Discontinued In India From Next Month Ownwards

Skype users won’t be able to make calls to mobiles/ landlines within India from 10 November.

Skype has recently announced its decision to discontinue voice-calls to mobile/ landline within India from 10 November onwards. The Microsoft-owned company said that the Indian users will no longer be able to make calls using their Skype account to Indian mobiles or landline users. However, Skype to Skype calling will remain active as it is.

The company noted on its website, “As of 10 November 2014, if you are in India, calling from Skype to mobiles and landlines within India will unfortunately no longer be available. This change only affects Skype calls to landlines and mobiles; you can still make free Skype-to-Skype calls within India, and you can still call mobiles and landlines in India from outside the country (as well as make calls from India to other countries) You can also use any Skype Credit you currently have to use Skype WiFi or to send SMS messages to your contacts.”

As of now, company has not stated any reason for this action, but most likely it has something to do with the country’s norms and regulations. If we go by the current law, VoIP calls made from India cannot be terminated on mobiles or landlines in India, although until now the companies have been routing calls internationally to avoid this regulation. All Skype users in India need to take note of their Skype call subscription before the mentioned date, in order to avoid being unnecessarily billed.

Fake Facebook “Likes” Might Call For Court Action!

Facebook is putting all possible efforts to knock out the spammers from the website!

Facebook has rolled out a plan to track all the spammers on the social media network, stating that any sort of malicious activity on the website is not good for business. Also, if incase the technical solution doesn’t provides enough help to overcome the issues, then the company might opt for the court action as well.

Facebook mentioned in a statement, “Businesses won’t achieve results and could end up doing less business on Facebook if the people they’re connected to aren’t real. It’s in our best interest to make sure that interactions are authentic.”

Facebook is putting all possible efforts to knock out all such means from the website. Spamming on Facebook is of any worth only when it is profitable, the company is trying to eradicate all those ways which allows spammers to make money on the site.

Facebook will primarily look after the fake likes on the website, while trying hard to track all the spammers who use this trick. The company has stated many times before as well, about how it works to prevent any malicious activity to take place on the site, it has even recommended the users to try and stay away from any suspicious activity.

The spam issue has evolved as a rising threat for many social networking sites. Other sites have also by far made many attempts in reducing the amount of spams on their websites, few have also been successful in doing that right!
